Separation and life change
Support when life takes a different direction
Separation, changes in family life and major transitions can bring uncertainty, grief, practical pressure and mixed emotions. Counselling offers a space to talk through what this change means for you.
You may be trying to manage day-to-day responsibilities while making sense of what has happened. There is no need to have a clear plan before starting. We can begin with what feels most pressing.

Explore the next steps
Sessions may focus on adjusting to change, loneliness, communication, emotional pressure, identity or rebuilding routines and support. The work is collaborative and follows your circumstances and goals.
Clear service boundaries
Counselling can support your wellbeing through separation and transition. It does not provide legal advice, determine parenting arrangements or replace specialist financial or legal support. We can discuss additional services where needed.
Children and young people
Family change can also affect younger people. Parents or carers seeking support for someone under 18 can contact Blue Oak first to discuss suitability, consent and age-appropriate support.
Appointments
Telehealth and selected in-person clinic days in Melton and Footscray are available. A free 15-minute suitability call is an introductory opportunity to ask questions. Check current appointments and fees in the booking portal.
Blue Oak is not a crisis service. In immediate danger, call 000. For 24-hour crisis support, call Lifeline on 13 11 14.
