Grief counselling

A space for loss and what comes after

You set the pace

Grief can follow the death of someone important, a relationship ending or another significant loss. Your experience may feel difficult to explain, and your needs may change from day to day. You can begin wherever you are.

Counselling offers time to speak about the loss, the person or experience that mattered to you and the impact on your daily life. There is no expectation to have particular feelings or to move through grief on a fixed timetable.

  • Significant loss

  • Relationships and identity

  • Changing daily routines

  • Loneliness

  • Everyday responsibilities

  • Support at your pace

What we can explore

Sessions may focus on changes in identity, relationships, routines, loneliness or finding support while you continue with everyday responsibilities. Together, we can consider what feels useful and manageable now.

Support across life stages

Blue Oak supports adults, children and young people. Parents or carers seeking help for someone under 18 can start with an introductory discussion about suitability and age-appropriate support.

Arrange a conversation

Telehealth and selected Melton and Footscray clinic appointments are available. A free 15-minute suitability call offers a chance to ask questions about counselling before deciding on a next step. Check current appointment options and fees in the booking portal.

Urgent support

Blue Oak is not a crisis service. In immediate danger, call 000. For 24-hour crisis support, call Lifeline on 13 11 14.
