Blue Oak Counselling | Self-paced training
A practical course for switching off when the job does not.
Designed for first responders, emergency-service personnel, volunteers, communications staff and shift workers who can function during demanding work but find it harder to come down afterwards.
This is practical psychoeducation and self-management support. It is not PTSD treatment, diagnosis or crisis care.

People in high-pressure roles are often very good at functioning while something is happening. The harder part can come afterwards: replaying the shift, staying alert at home, being unable to sleep, becoming short with people or relying on one quick way to switch off.
After the Shift focuses on recognising those patterns early and building practical responses before pressure has to become a crisis.

The course is deliberately structured around focused, usable lessons with practical exercises, diagrams, worksheets and downloadable handouts. You can work through it at your own pace and return to particular modules after difficult periods.

One-time payment. Full course access.
No subscription and no live attendance required. Work through the material when it suits you and return to the lessons when you need them.
After the Shift is educational and self-management training. It is not a crisis service, diagnosis or treatment for PTSD or another mental-health condition. If there is immediate danger in Australia, call 000. Lifeline is available on 13 11 14.
